Hello and welcome to Daily Yogi!

Every day, we have a new suggestion for a positive action to make ourselves and/or the world a better place. We draw our Daily Yogi practices from Ashtanga, or the 8 Limbs of Yoga.

You can dive in and join the community with our current daily Ashtanga inspired positive practices or check out the members’ area for special interest groups and challenges. Or, maybe you would rather start at the beginning with an introduction to the 8 Limbs of Yoga, and our new beginnings practices like journaling to study your progress, or making a daily commitment you have always wanted to incorporate into your life.

Svadhyaya – Self-Study – Day 9 – Journal Day

Thursday is Svadhyaya / self-study day. We are keeping up with journaling for self-study. This is our last Svadhyaya Day for the year with our Yamas-focused Holiday month, so we have some holiday and resolution prompts for today.

Today’s journal prompts include: What are some of your favorite holiday traditions? If you could change just one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Tapas – Discipline – Day 9

Today is Workout Wednesday for Tapas (discipline) Day! We have a Yamas focused month for December holidays, so I am preparing for the holiday season with burning more calories.

We are also checking on our progress with our daily commitment from past Tapas days. If you struggled with your last daily habit, perhaps try a 30 Day Challenge.

Santosha – Contentment – Day 9 – December Holidays & Yamas Month

Happy Giving Tuesday Yogis! December is #holidayseason across the world and we are having a special Yamas-focused month to tie in with the holidays! Before we begin our Yamas practices, we are wrapping up the remaining Niyamas and Limbs of Yoga.

Today we are actively exercising Santosha or Contentment by focusing on the present moment. Perhaps participate in #givingtuesday for some e extra kindness and generosity practice today.
